Warrior Spotlight

Through the Femi Pinto Foundation Internship Program, we are committed to empowering warriors living with sickle cell by equipping them with practical skills, mentorship, and hands-on career exposure. The program creates a safe, supportive space where participants can explore their passions, build confidence, and gain tools for long-term independence — all while being supported holistically in their health journey.

We are proud to highlight one of our incredible warriors, Bankole Daniel Olaoluwa, whose resilience, creativity, and determination continue to inspire everyone around him.

Can you tell us a little about yourself?

My name is Bankole Daniel Olaoluwa, and I am a fashion designer.

What keeps you motivated on difficult days?

On difficult days, I remind myself that giving up is not an option. I refuse to let my situation define me, and that mindset keeps me pushing forward no matter what challenges come my way.

What has been your favorite part of the program so far?

I really love the sewing experience. They teach us new techniques and expose us more to the fashion industry. It has helped me grow my skills and confidence as a designer.

What are your goals after this internship program?

Bankole hopes to continue developing his fashion design skills and pursue opportunities that will allow him to grow in the fashion industry.

What advice would you give to other children or young adults living with sickle cell?

Never give up on yourself — keep pushing no matter the challenges. Believe in yourself, and also believe in God, because with God on your side, all things are possible.
