The Femi Pinto Sickle Cell Clubs

The Femi Pinto Sickle Cell Clubs – a collaboration with the Sickle Cell Foundation of Nigeria, were created primarily as Patient/Parent Advocacy & Support groups for children with Sickle Cell who live in abject poverty with little or no medical assistance. We currently have two clubs that meet monthly, under the guidance of a trained SCD genetic counsellor, in Ondo and Lagos. The Ondo group meets in Femi’s Alma Mater, St Monica’s Grammar School. At these meetings, the children are educated on ways to cope and live with the disease, receive their routine medicines and food items.

Annual Team Pinto 5K Event 

Each year, the FPSCF hosts the Annual Team Pinto 5k Run\Walk\Cycle event in multiple locations. 

The event is used to raise funds, bring awareness, education, and research about Sickle Cell disease and to communities at large. 

Annual Children with Sickle Cell Holiday Party

The Children’s Annual Holiday party held every December by the Sickle Cell Foundation of Nigeria, gives the patients a fun way to enjoy the holiday season. The FPSCF is honored to be able to donate to help offset the costs of this event. We are so sure that Femi Pinto smiles each time she sees the smiles on the children’s faces as they enjoy the event.
